The Dyslexia Training Institute (DTI) and the University of San Diego (accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges) have collaborated to allow students who enroll in DTI courses to register to receive Graduate Level Extension Credits from the University of San Diego (USD). The Graduate Level Extension Credits are generally used for educator’s certification requirements, salary enhancement purposes and/or transferred to a degree program. It is the responsibility of the participant to consult with their organization requiring the credits for certifications, salary enhancement or degrees to ensure the Graduate Level Extension Credits issued from USD will fulfill the specified requirements.

USD’s Graduate Level Extension Credit fee is $79 per Graduate Level Extension Credit hour. There is not a formal enrollment application to USD required to register for the Graduate Level Extension Credits. Please note that the tuition fee for the credits is paid directly to USD and is not part of the registration fee paid to DTI to enroll in the course. USD provides the credits only. DTI provides the coursework. You are required pay the registration fee for our courses directly to DTI. Please visit our website for information about our coursework and required registration fees. IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ

Both DTI and USD are intent on assuring that the learner is able to maximize the ideas gained by meaningful involvement in the program. Both DTI and USD expect participants to invest a minimum of 12.5 hours for each Graduate Level Extension Credit (minimum 25 hours for two Graduate Level Extension Credits) earned by studying, testing, reflecting, and implementing the research-based components of effective reading and writing instruction and strategies for individuals with dyslexia. With this in mind, we anticipate it would require a minimum of three weeks of study and participation to complete each course.

DTI participants in individual courses will be allowed to enroll in and earn Graduate Level Extension Credits for only two DTI courses per semester/quarter. (corresponding to university Fall (Sept-Dec), Winter/Spring (Jan – May) and Summer (Jun – Aug) semesters/quarters). (Note: Some exceptions may be made. Please contact DTI for more information.)

DTI participants enrolled in the Dyslexia Certificate Program will be allowed to enroll in and earn credits for each course in the program.

By registering for Graduate Level Extension Credits, participants agree to the expectations indicated above.
